About The Position

Requirements

• Required healthcare experience.
• Required certification through one of the following: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (National Healthcareer Association), Certified Medical Assistant (American Association of Medical Assistants), Medical Assistant (American Medical Technologist), or National Certified Medical Assistant (National Center for Competency Testing).
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Computer knowledge.
• Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, patients’ families and visitors, clinical staff, and providers at all levels.
• Ability to work accurately and with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Phlebotomy skills and experience.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Accompany patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations.
• Perform and document vital signs.
• Assist with procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications with physician authorization.
• Perform EKGs.
• Use CPR skills when required.
• Draw blood.
• Provide patient education about office policies, medications, disease management, home treatments, and special diets.
• Stock exam rooms, clean rooms and instruments, and dispose of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards.
• Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
