About The Position

SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital–Oklahoma City, a joint venture with Select Medical, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for per-diem work in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The inpatient rehabilitation hospital provides care for people facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The COTA treats patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The organization offers an extensive orientation and notes that demonstrated skills and dedication may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Certified BLS, or completion within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and modify treatment during sessions, as indicated, in collaboration with an Occupational Therapist.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
