About The Position

UF Health Rehabilitation Hospital - North, affiliated with Select Medical, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for its inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. The hospital provides care for people facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The COTA treats patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT). The position is per diem, with compensation of $37.00 per hour. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and the possibility of future full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) benefits after reaching 1,000 hours during their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and, in collaboration with an OT, modify treatment during sessions as indicated.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
