About The Position

Lifepoint Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join the team at Kindred Hospital South FL in Coral Gables on an as-needed (PRN) schedule. The role supports patient care by communicating patient progress and concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team, and by instructing families or nursing staff on follow-through programs and home exercises. The assistant also supports scheduling and daily charge entry, maintains accurate and compliant documentation, and keeps treatment equipment and work areas clean and safe. The position requires compliance with company policies, applicable laws, and professional standards.

Requirements

• Certification from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program culminating in an associate’s degree.
• Current and valid state OTA license in Florida.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and enter post-treatment charges in patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable laws, and professional standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
