About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in patient care by gathering essential information during the clinical process under the supervision of Registered Nurses. The role assists nurses and other healthcare practitioners, applying education and demonstrated competencies to support high-quality patient care in collaboration with nursing staff. The schedule is four days per week, eight hours each day, on a day schedule. Certification is required.

Requirements

Successfully complete an accredited CMA course.
Be currently certified as a Medical Assistant in the state if certification is required by the state or facility.
Be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification if required.
Reside in the United States.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with RNs and healthcare staff, following established policies and procedures to support quality patient care and using appropriate intervention techniques and safety precautions.
Gather patient histories, verify medications, and make appropriate referrals for follow-up.
Follow designated work schedules, respond to codes or patient crises according to site policies, and assist healthcare practitioners as assigned.
Use infection-control techniques and principles to support patients’ emotional and physical comfort and safety.
Maintain work areas, supplies, and equipment.
Attend mandatory staff meetings and training.
