About The Position

As a Cable/Aerial Technician, you will be responsible for pulling, testing, and terminating CAT5e/6a and or Fiber Optic cabling, installing cable support structures as well as various kinds of A/V, security, and/or DAS devices on a commercial construction site.

Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: The role requires lifting 50–115 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Comfort with Heights: Technicians must work confidently from ladders, scaffolding, scissor lifts, and cranes at heights up to 135 feet.
  • Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of electrical circuits, DMX wiring, and CAD drawings (lighting plots) is essential for correct installation.
  • HID / HPS Knowledge: Proficient with HID / HPS work and LED conversion options.
  • Electrical: Must understand and be able to troubleshoot voltages ranging from 12V DC to 480V AC
  • Tooling: Must have basic tools for aerial work, including, but not limited to, voltage meters, hand tools, electrical insulated tools, and levels.
  • 6-months experience as a commercial low-voltage technician
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Have their own reliable transportation to and from the jobsite
  • Pass a background check and drug test
  • Be able to work day shifts, nights, or weekends, if needed

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for pulling, testing, and terminating CAT5e/6a and/or Fiber Optic cabling on an active construction site
  • Install various kinds of devices such as speakers, projectors, displays, WAPs, card readers, access control devices (strikes, locks, or crash bars), transmitters, receivers, and DAS equipment.
  • Attend mandatory safety meetings, as well as maintain strict adherence to company and client safety standards.
  • Accurately label cabling consistent with PM or foreman instruction
  • Assist other team members whenever necessary to efficiently complete the installation
  • Adhere to company policies and established procedures
