Cable Technician
About The Position
Our client is hiring Cable Technicians to support structured cabling projects in the Clarksville, Tennessee area. This hands-on role focuses on installing, pulling, and terminating copper and fiber cabling in commercial and municipal environments, including office buildings, healthcare facilities, and utility infrastructure. Lead technicians will work with two to three less-experienced technicians. Technicians route cable through conduit, trays, and risers; terminate copper and fiber connections; and test and certify installations using industry-standard tools. Work may also include assisting with fiber splicing and inside- and outside-plant installations. Technicians follow TIA/EIA and BICSI standards and ensure fire-stop compliance and adherence to safety protocols. The position is contract-to-hire, fully onsite in Nashville, Tennessee, with pay of $23.00–$27.00 per hour. The posting describes the role as intermediate level.
Requirements
- Strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of high-voltage systems.
- Knowledge of electrical systems.
- Must be able or willing to climb ladders.
- Cable installation and structured cabling skills.
- Experience or skills involving Cat6, rack and stack, troubleshooting, wireless access points, and fiber-optic installation.
Responsibilities
- Install, pull, route, and terminate copper and fiber cabling.
