About The Position
The Part-Time Hotel Bartender operates the lobby bar at Homewood Suites New Orleans French Quarter, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering friendly, welcoming guest service. The lobby bar has a dedicated dry-bar setup with fully disposable service and a streamlined menu of beer, wine, canned craft cocktails, and simple mixed drinks. The role emphasizes accurate beverage preparation, bar cleanliness, responsible alcohol service, and an efficient, inviting bar environment. This position is approximately 15–20 hours per week. Set shifts are every Sunday and Monday from 3:30 PM to 9:30 PM, plus every other Saturday from 3:30 PM to 10:30 PM. The bartender must also be available to fill in for other shifts as needed. Hourly pay is $10 plus tips.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have an active State of Louisiana Responsible Vendor (RV) Server Card / City Permit before the start date.
- Basic understanding of beer, wine, and simple cocktail service.
- Ability to transport ice buckets or beverage crates weighing up to 30–40 lbs.
- Ability to stand for the full duration of the shift.
- Must be available to fill in for other shifts as needed.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily pre-shift setup, including stocking ice, disposable cups, napkins, garnishes, and inventory.
- Break down the bar after shifts, remove trash, sanitize the area, and secure products at closing.
- Serve beer, wine, and simple, low-preparation cocktails to hotel guests in disposable drinkware, following brand standards.
- Deliver a warm, welcoming guest experience and offer local recommendations.
- Transport ice, disposable supplies, and beverage inventory to the bar area.
- Monitor product levels during shifts and ensure the bar is fully prepared for the next day.
- Verify guest IDs and comply with Louisiana alcohol service laws.
- Keep the service counter clean, sanitized, and organized.
