About The Position

The Higgins Hotel is seeking an outgoing and friendly Bartender for its Lobby Bar, Kilroy’s. The Bartender crafts and serves drinks to guests, provides exceptional customer service, and helps create a memorable guest experience. The role calls for a passion for mixology, a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of a wide range of drinks.

The Higgins Hotel & Conference Center is located in New Orleans across from The National WWII Museum. It has 230 guest rooms and suites, a full-service restaurant, lounge, rooftop bar, and conference facilities. The hotel welcomes veterans and individuals with disabilities and is committed to an inclusive workplace.

Requirements

• Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit, where applicable.
• TiPS Certification required; must obtain it within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of drink recipes and drink and wine merchandising specials.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Working knowledge of drink service and bar terminology.
• Meet the minimum age requirement of the jurisdiction.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• One year of bartending experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Display knowledge of basic drink service and bar terminology.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Prepare and serve cocktail orders in a timely manner.
• Clean the bar, bar walk-ins, and liquor storage areas as assigned.
• Stock bars at wells as assigned.
• Check guests for proper identification.
• Balance the bank and daily receipts.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including cross-training.
• Attend required meetings.
