About The Position

The Higgins Hotel is seeking a full-time Bartender for its Lobby Bar, Kilroy's. The Bartender crafts and serves a variety of drinks, provides exceptional customer service, and helps create a memorable guest experience. The role requires knowledge of drink recipes and bar service, a strong work ethic, and effective communication. The Higgins Hotel is a 230-room hotel and conference center in New Orleans, across from The National WWII Museum, with a restaurant, lounge, rooftop bar, and conference facilities. The hotel welcomes veterans and individuals with disabilities and is committed to an inclusive workplace.

Requirements

• Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit, where applicable.
• TiPS Certification required; must obtain it within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of drink recipes, drink and wine merchandising specials.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Working knowledge of drink service and bar terminology.
• Meet the minimum age requirement of the jurisdiction.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Prefer one year of bartending experience.

Responsibilities

• Display knowledge of basic drink service and bar terminology.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Prepare and serve cocktail orders in a timely manner.
• Clean the bar, bar walk-ins, and liquor storage areas as assigned.
• Stock bars at wells as assigned.
• Check guests for proper identification.
• Balance the bank and daily receipts.
• Complete other duties assigned by the supervisor, including cross-training.
• Attend required meetings.
