About The Position

Liberation Programs is a leading behavioral health organization in Fairfield County, specializing in the treatment of substance use disorders. The agency offers a range of services including inpatient treatment, outpatient services, health education, adolescent and family resources, community prevention efforts, and supportive housing. Founded in 1971, Liberation Programs operates sites in Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk, and Bridgeport, serving over 2,400 individuals annually. The mission is to provide prevention, treatment, and recovery services for substance use and mental health conditions to foster hope and maintain wellness for individuals and their families. This role focuses on managing the day-to-day operations of the men's residential services program, providing supervision and guidance to counselors, conducting audits, managing schedules, and ensuring timely data entry and reporting. The Assistant Director will also assist with client crisis management and grievances, adhering to proper procedures, and may share on-call duties with program leadership.

Requirements

  • Must have a current license from the state of CT (LCSW, LMFT, LPC or LADC preferred).
  • Must have a minimum of three years of supervisory experience (residential preferred).
  • Must have a work history that demonstrates clear leadership, accomplishment, and the ability to get work accomplished on time, on budget, and within predetermined specifications.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization and with its stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise counselors, conducting and documenting regular individual and/or group supervision sessions.
  • Conduct and document chart audits.
  • Oversee and manage the staff schedule to ensure adequate facility coverage.
  • Review and approve timesheets.
  • Coordinate time-off requests, including vacation and personal leave.
  • Manage and organize the treatment schedule to ensure consistency of services.
  • Review and sign all supervisory forms (admission, discharge, individual planning, treatment plan).
  • Ensure all financial reviews are timely and accurate.
  • Assign and manage caseloads.
  • Review and co-sign all agency correspondence for appropriateness, including court and DCF reports.
  • Review all information regarding OTR’s to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Review all DPAS reports regularly to ensure data entry is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain a caseload based on program expectations.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family sessions.
  • Document results of all sessions clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner.
  • Submit all appropriate documentation to the financial department promptly.
  • Complete treatment plans and treatment plan reviews.
  • Facilitate staff and case conference meetings in the absence of the facility Director.
  • Assist in the facilitation of meetings as requested by the Program Director, including agenda development and presentations.
  • Facilitate events with input from the counselor and/or client committee.
