About The Position

In Virginia Tech’s Division of Student Affairs, we are guiding, nurturing, and supporting students as they learn and grow into leaders and world-changers. We are searching for an Assistant Director for Housing Services and Occupancy Management to join our Housing Services team in Blacksburg, VA. This role involves data, creative problem-solving, and being in the center of the action. The successful candidate will join the Housing Services team, a department focused on supporting students and families by providing excellent customer service and responsive communications related to contracting, assignments, and billing for on-campus housing. This position reports to the Associate Director for Housing Services and is a regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment. The role is responsible for the processes by which students sign their housing contracts, choose their rooms, and navigate the administrative tasks required to make the most of their housing opportunities.

Requirements

Master’s degree and/or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Public Administration, Finance, Business Management, Student Affairs, or related field
Previous experience in housing administration, residential property management, or related field
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and housing software systems
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
Strong customer services skills in working with diverse populations
Criminal conviction check
Driving check with a safe driving record

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with StarRez housing software
Prior experience with SQL language and database management

Responsibilities

Manage processes by which students sign their housing contracts.
Oversee room selection processes for students.
Guide students through administrative tasks related to housing opportunities.
Provide excellent customer service and responsive communications relating to contracting, assignments, and billing for on-campus housing.
