About The Position

As our Director of Store Operations, you are the architect of operational excellence across our retail fleet. This leader designs, simplifies, and scales the operational systems, processes, and standards that allow stores to operate efficiently and consistently so teams can spend more time with customers and less time managing complexity. You will remove operational friction, optimize four wall store execution, and translate company strategy into clear, repeatable store operations. Partnering closely with Retail Leadership and cross functional teams, the Director of Store Operations ensures that operational infrastructure supports growth, productivity, and a premium customer experience across every location. This position is remote and will report into Lovesac Corporate HUB based in Stamford, CT. Candidates must fully reside in the United States at all times during employment and should have the ability to travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations, Retail Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of Retail Leadership experience within multi-store environments.
  • Prior experience as a Store Manager and District Manager or Regional Director.
  • Current or recent experience serving as a Director of Store Operations or equivalent role within a multi-store retail organization.
  • Furniture retail and operational leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven success designing scalable operational systems for a growing retail fleet.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, particularly in labor productivity and payroll efficiency.
  • Experience leading complex, cross functional initiatives in fast-paced retail organizations.

  • Must be able to travel using various forms of transportation, as required by the Company in its sole discretion, for mandatory meetings and conferences held either at our offices or offsite (i.e. quarterly team connection weeks, companywide meetings and events, vendor visits).
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% for store visits, vendor meetings and in-person leadership meetings.
  • Must comply with all policies and procedures outlined in the Lovesac Employee Handbook and work collaboratively with fellow employees, treating all clients, both internal and external with dignity and respect at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Four-Wall Store Operations: Design and continuously improve the daily operating model within the four walls of the store. Simplify operational tasks so store teams can prioritize selling and customer engagement. Establish clear operational standards that drive consistency across all locations. Eliminate unnecessary work and reduce operational burden on field teams. Ensure operational processes support a seamless, premium customer experience.
  • Build Scalable, Repeatable Operating Systems: Create operational frameworks that scale with fleet growth. Develop clear, simple, and repeatable store processes that drive executional consistency. Own operational playbooks, standards, and documentation for the field. Lead pilots, test and learn initiatives, and operational rollouts. Ensure new initiatives are operationally viable and scalable before enterprise deployment.
  • Drive Store Productivity: Partner with Retail Leadership and workload planning to optimize labor models. Improve operational efficiency to increase selling time and payroll productivity. Identify and remove operational barriers impacting store performance. Ensure operational strategies directly support sales and customer experience goals.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Execution: Translate company strategy into actionable operational execution for stores. Serve as the operational bridge between corporate teams and the field. Partner with Merchandining, Marketing, Training, Facilities, Supply Chain, Technology, and Finance. Lead the operational rollout of new programs, tools, and initiatives to ensure field success.
  • Enable and Support Field Leadership: Act as a trusted operational partner to HOS, Regional Directors, and District Managers. Provide frameworks and standards that enable field leaders to run high performing stores. Ensure operational expectations are clear, achievable, and consistently executed.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties for this role as requested by management.
