About The Position
Provides skilled assistance to anesthesiology providers during surgical and special procedures. The role involves preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies, providing medications for anesthesiologists, supporting line placements and other specialized procedures, processing specimens, performing EKGs, and ensuring equipment is calibrated and ready for patient care. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Missouri Baptist Medical Center is an acute care hospital in St. Louis County offering a broad range of medical and surgical services. It is a Magnet-designated hospital recognized for nursing excellence and quality patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–5 years of experience.
Nice To Haves
- Anesthesia Technician certification.
- Certified Nurse Assistant certification.
- CPR/AED certification.
Responsibilities
- Prepare IVs and central lines and set up transducers.
- Assist with rapid infusion of blood products, process blood specimens, and complete EKG tests.
- Set up, prime, and calibrate various equipment.
- Complete and document quality checks on equipment.
- Assist with special procedures, including line placement, fiber optic intubation, hemodilutions, echocardiograms, EEGs, and regional anesthesia.
- Prepare anesthesia equipment and supplies and provide medications for use by anesthesiologists.
