About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to maintain anesthesia supplies and equipment and assist anesthesia staff. The position is PRN/OCC with variable hours per pay period and varied shifts at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, a 444-bed hospital and part of Covenant Health.

Requirements

No minimum experience is specified.
No license is required.
Formal education and/or prior work experience must be sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the essential tasks, typically equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.
Provide assistance to anesthesia staff as requested.
Receive and maintain inventory of anesthesia supplies.
Maintain anesthesia equipment, including exchange carts and gas machines.
Assist with ordering and receiving operating room supplies, processing operating room charges in the computer, transporting patients, and other operating room-related duties.
Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Complete required annual education assignments.
Work toward achieving goals and objectives and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
