About The Position

Provides direct and indirect technical care to surgical and obstetric patients across the age spectrum, facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Follows established practices and standards and supports the mission, policies, and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Completes established competencies within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of a surgical technology program accredited by the Department of Education (DOE) or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
• No minimum experience required.
• Have active healthcare-provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire; obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year as a Surgical or OB Technologist in an acute-care or ambulatory setting.
• Certification accepted by Baptist Health System from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), or from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) as a Technician in Surgery–Certified (TS-C).
