About The Position

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mathematics; a related master’s degree with substantial graduate-level Mathematics coursework may be considered.
• Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft applications.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Must reside in Washington State within a reasonable distance of the campus to meet workplace reporting requirements.
• Ability to meet the position’s scheduling flexibility requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Successful experience teaching Mathematics at a college or university.
• Experience with learning management system software such as Canvas.
• Ability to effectively teach and communicate mathematics principles from arithmetic through differential equations.
• Knowledge of alternative teaching methods, including the use of technology in instruction.
• Knowledge of practical applications of mathematics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in classroom and professional settings.
• Ability to collaborate successfully with colleagues, staff, and students as part of an educational team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach developmental and/or college-level mathematics courses.
• Provide high-quality, enthusiastic instruction, including course preparation and grading.
• Provide class syllabi to enrolled students and to the division office when requested.
• Maintain accurate student records and complete required forms and records.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate evening instruction.
• Teach at the Bremerton, Poulsbo, and/or Shelton campuses as needed.
• Maintain clear and punctual communication with students, faculty, and staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

• Adjunct faculty are not eligible for benefits upon initial hire. Eligibility may follow after working 50 percent of a full-time load for two consecutive quarters; additional hours at other SBCTC colleges may count toward this requirement.
