Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is seeking qualified applicants for a pool of part-time history faculty positions. Successful candidates should be qualified and available to teach beginning in fall 2027, face-to-face on weekdays at the main campus, in U.S. history (HIST 140 and/or HIST 141) and/or world history (HIST 151 and/or HIST 152). Teaching loads may change, and faculty may be assigned other duties as needed. Work hours vary according to department needs. Applicants must submit an application, resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts through the JCCC jobs portal. The cover letter or curriculum vitae should state whether the applicant will live in Kansas or Missouri when the position begins, describe weekday on-campus availability, and detail collegiate history teaching experience, including courses taught and proficiency with learning management systems such as Canvas. Finalists will be subject to criminal background investigations; departments may also administer job-related pre-employment tests. Many departments require certified transcripts for degrees obtained. JCCC serves a diverse student body, including non-traditional students, military veterans, immigrants, international students, and first-generation college students. The college is located in Overland Park, Kansas, and describes its mission as inspiring learning to transform lives and strengthen communities.
