About The Position
As a Staff Accountant you will be responsible for producing, overseeing, and analyzing all necessary financial information and taxes and other filings related to Rite of Passage, Inc, or Rite of Passage ATCS as assigned and Non-Profit schools, if assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 1-3 years of accounting experience and knowledge; or 5 years of prior accounting experience and knowledge may be substituted
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
- Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
- Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Great Plains preferred
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to interview potential employees if required
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including preparing and posting journal entries
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist in preparing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and support expense coding and verification
- Maintain fixed asset records, including depreciation and asset tracking
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Participate in process improvements and special projects
