About The Position

Performs routine property accounting tasks including recording capital activity, assisting with asset analysis, and supporting acquisition and divestiture processes. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records related to the company's assets and financial transactions.

Requirements

  • Three years of accounting experience required with a minimum of one (1) year of property accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to identify and analyze accounting and financial reporting questions and develop solutions responsive to those questions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex financial information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Property accounting experience preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparation of schedules, journal entries, and analysis for depreciation of pipelines, storage facilities, gas processing facilities and gathering systems, and corporate fixed assets.
  • Assists in preparation of schedules, journal entries, and analysis for asset retirement obligations associated with pipelines, storage facilities, gas processing facilities and gathering systems.
  • Assists in preparation of schedules, journal entries, and analysis for impairment of pipelines, storage facilities, gas processing facilities and gathering systems.
  • Prepares work papers to support the company’s financial statements.
  • Assists in preparation of schedules, journal entries, and analysis for acquisition and divestiture accounting, including recording accounting related to acquisitions and divestitures accurately and timely in the Company’s ledgers and consolidated financial statements.
  • Records opening PPC balances and purchase price adjustments related to business combinations.
  • Assists with the audits of the annual financial statements.
  • Researches and prepares journal entries related to inventory.
  • Assists Corporate Accounting team with monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting, as needed.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
  • Assists with FERC accounting and reporting and schedules to support FERC Filings.
  • Monitors and completes AFEs in a timely manner to ensure all Assets created.
