About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Hostler / Yard Driver to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of operations within our warehouse and yard. The ideal candidate will be responsible for moving trailers within the yard, ensuring timely and safe transfers, and assisting with other warehouse duties as needed. This position operates on a Sunday to Wednesday schedule, from 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with the understanding that hours may vary based on business demands.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License.
- Previous experience as a yard driver, hostler, or in a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to operate yard equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in a warehouse/yard environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform warehouse tasks, including lifting and moving items.
- Must be able to work the specified shift: Sunday - Wednesday, 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
Nice To Haves
- CDL Class A license.
- Experience with warehouse management systems.
- Forklift operation experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate hostler/yard truck to move trailers within the distribution center yard.
- Position trailers for loading and unloading at dock doors.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the hostler/yard truck and trailers.
- Maintain a clean and organized yard environment.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and management regarding trailer movements.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, such as sweeping, organizing, and light maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
