About The Position

The Yard Hostler operates yard trucks and trailers to move and position equipment around the yard, working with the operations team to ensure equipment is ready for loading and unloading. The role includes maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe yard; inspecting, cleaning, and refueling designated vehicles; sanitizing containers; and addressing or reporting maintenance needs. The position is full-time, with the listed role identified as second shift. Shifts may vary according to warehouse package volume and business needs, and flexible schedules are offered and discussed during hiring. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and eligibility for benefits after an eligibility period.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. or more.
Must pass an interview with the Warehouse Manager before proceeding with the employment application process.

Responsibilities

Operate yard trucks and trailers to move equipment within the yard.
Position equipment for loading and unloading.
Conduct pre-trip inspections and inspect vehicles for potential maintenance needs.
Keep the yard clean, organized, orderly, and safe.
Assist with loading and unloading equipment when needed.
Communicate with the operations team to ensure equipment is ready when needed.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
Determine suitable vehicle and container placements and maneuver them between facility areas.
Direct other Yard Hostlers' vehicle movements when needed.
Transport materials to the weighing platform.
Clean and refuel designated vehicles.
Sanitize containers before and after every shipment.
Tend to or report maintenance requirements.
Stow equipment after use.
