About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for Nebel Street Animal Hospital in Rockville, MD. This community-minded small animal practice believes credentialed technicians are the clinical drivers of patient care and encourages RVTs to work to the top of their license. The hospital is a well-established, full-service general practice with a legacy of excellence, featuring a state-of-the-art facility, two dedicated DVMs, and an experienced support team. They are dedicated to staying current with the latest advancements in diagnostics, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative wellness, and are a surgery-heavy hospital. The role involves serving as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset, and following AAHA utilization guidance.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Maryland RVT state license.
  • Credentialed technicians are the clinical drivers of patient care.
  • Work to the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset.
  • Follow AAHA utilization guidance consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
  • Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.
