About The Position

Highland Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join their team in Fayetteville, NC. This is a full-time position with a pay range of $17-$25/hour. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of veterinary experience, strong surgical and technical skills, and a passion for excellent patient and client care. The practice is a busy small animal hospital offering comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care, with a diverse caseload and experienced team that provides opportunities for RVTs to utilize and grow their skills.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in North Carolina, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • 5+ years of veterinary experience preferred.
  • Strong surgical skills, including surgical preparation and assisting.
  • Experience with anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Dentistry experience, including scaling and polishing, preferred.
  • Strong animal handling and restraint skills with knowledge of clinical procedures.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture, blood draws, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and vaccines.
  • Experience with digital radiology, including proper patient positioning.
  • Ability to obtain accurate medical histories and maintain detailed patient records.
  • Excellent client communication, education, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary dentistry experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and assist with anesthesia, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
