Requirements

  • Current Veterinary Technician certification or credentialing
  • Strong technical skills, including venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and patient recovery
  • Knowledge of preventive care, medications, and veterinary diagnostics
  • Safe and compassionate patient handling and restraint skills
  • Commitment to fear-free and low-stress handling techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vitals, and patient assessments
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from intake through discharge
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Obtain high-quality radiographs and assist with diagnostic procedures
  • Run in-house laboratory testing
  • Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and instrument care
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals while maintaining accurate records
  • Practice fear-free and low-stress handling techniques whenever possible
  • Educate clients with compassion, clarity, and confidence
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts
  • Keep treatment and exam areas clean, stocked, and organized
  • Anticipate the needs of veterinarians and teammates to support an efficient daily workflow
  • Collaborate with the team to provide exceptional patient and client care
