About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Journalism, Economics, or a closely related field.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and transmitting vendor payment files, including ACH/EFT and manual check entries, using financial systems such as Microsoft Access and SAP.
• Gather data for IRS Tax Positive Liability and Arbitrage Rebate calculations.
• Review bond documents for completeness and accuracy under senior staff direction.
• Support posting vendor and City department payments into the City’s ERP system.
• Assist with reconciling trial balance reports for various debt schedules in SAP.
• Compile information about investments and debt for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
• Retrieve vendor or payroll items from transmitted files for distribution to City departments.
• Help coordinate payments for large and short-term debt service obligations and other treasury-related invoices.
• Gather data and documentation for derivative payments and related financial analysis.
• Research issues of basic complexity and recommend resolutions.
• Compile data, produce information, interpret results, and draft conclusions or recommendations.
• Prepare draft reports, special documents, and publications as assigned.
• Complete basic-complexity projects related to financial, administrative, professional, political, and community issues.
• Represent the supervisor at meetings or functions to gather and summarize information.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Assist in preparing, editing, and revising department policy and procedure manuals.
• Respond to correspondence and information requests as assigned.
• Participate as directed in developing short- and long-term management and administrative policies, procedures, and plans.
• Analyze and review management practices and procedures and recommend improvements.
• Assist in evaluating and designing workflows, processes, and operational systems to improve efficiency.
• Support the development of technological solutions and systems for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Record and check accounting entries in the City’s ERP system under supervision.
• Work with senior staff to provide supporting documentation and reconciliations for external audits.
• Research and summarize financial data from various sources for reports and presentations.
• Perform other related duties supporting treasury, banking, and administrative operations.
