About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; a degree in dance, dance education, performing arts, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working in dance through teaching, private instruction, after-school or community programming, studios, camps, or professional performance.
• Deep knowledge of dance technique, choreography, and performance, with the ability to translate expertise into rigorous, accessible, and engaging instruction.
• Passion for developing students’ creativity, artistic expression, and confidence, with high expectations for student growth.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Full-time experience teaching dance in an elementary, middle, or high school setting, or formal training at a dance conservatory, is strongly preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree in dance, dance education, performing arts, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver technically rigorous dance instruction that develops students’ technique, artistry, creative expression, and confidence.
• Create a joyful, inclusive, and rigorous learning environment that encourages creative risk-taking, love of dance, and belonging.
• Maintain 100% enrollment across clubs and teams and complete all required Specialty events.
• Use data and student work to monitor progress, refine instruction, accelerate student growth, and ensure at least 80% of students pass unit assessments.
• Lead a high-quality after-school dance program that builds students’ technical skills and passion for dance and expands performance and enrichment opportunities.
• Build meaningful relationships with students and families to support student growth and success.
• Collaborate with leaders and colleagues and participate in weekly professional development, applying feedback to strengthen instruction.
• Contribute to whole-school priorities and initiatives by providing instructional and community support as needed.
