About The Position

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support and maintain enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role focuses on ensuring availability, security, and performance of systems supporting MTY's global operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 3--6+ years of systems administration experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise environments preferred.
  • Operating Systems: Windows Server (intermediate to advanced), Linux (basic to intermediate).
  • Virtualization: VMware (ESXi, vCenter).
  • Cloud Platforms: Exposure to AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Identity & Core Services: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
  • Networking: Basic understanding of TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, and network segmentation.
  • Storage & Backup: Exposure to SAN storage and backup/archiving solutions.
  • Automation & DevOps: Basic scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash), familiarity with IaC (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation), understanding of DevOps and Git workflows, exposure to configuration management tools.
  • Monitoring & Security: Experience with log monitoring tools, understanding of Zero Trust concepts.
  • Tools & Frameworks: Exposure to ITSM tools and ITIL processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in an environment spanning multiple geographic locations with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft 365 / O365 ecosystem (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Experience with AWS or Azure in a support capacity.
  • Familiarity with Cisco or Palo Alto networking technologies.
  • Backup tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows, Linux, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Administer VMware platforms (ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion).
  • Assist in managing server workloads in AWS and/or Azure environments.
  • Maintain server hardware, storage systems (SAN), and networking components.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on server, networking, and related hardware.
  • Ensure systems availability, performance, and capacity planning.
  • Support server network infrastructure (NIC, IP Addressing, VPNs, VLANs, routing, load balancing).
  • Follow and implement security best practices, including Zero Trust principles.
  • Assist with vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.
  • Manage user accounts and identity services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
  • Configure and report on authentication, access control, and system performance.
  • Support backup and disaster recovery (DR) processes.
  • Assist with validation of disaster recovery automation.
  • Participate in DR testing activities.
  • Ensure systems comply with data protection policies and backup standards.
  • Troubleshoot system, application, and performance issues.
  • Support application deployment, installation, and configuration.
  • Provide support to Help Desk and escalate issues when required.
  • Act as an escalation point for advanced technical issues when needed.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation and scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Maintain a high level of availability in accordance with SLAs.
  • Develop and maintain basic automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation (preferred).
  • Support configuration management and automation tools.
  • Monitor systems and assist with performance tuning.
  • Utilize log monitoring tools for troubleshooting and alerting.
  • Ensure systems comply with policies, standards, licensing agreements, and procedures.
  • Work within ITIL-based processes (incident, problem, change management).
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in DevOps and Git-based workflows.
  • Provide input into system improvements and operational procedures.
  • Assist with server-related cost and effort estimates for projects.
