About The Position

GeoControl Systems, Inc. is seeking a passionate and talented Systems Administrator to join their team at Johnson Space Center (JSC) on the Amentum JETS2 contract, supporting the Aeroscience and Flight Mechanics Division. This role involves supporting various labs within the division that conduct analysis for all crewed space flight, including commercial partners. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for supporting both Windows and Linux-based systems, managing and designing lab-specific wired and wireless networking, and maintaining security updates. The position requires working alongside other System Administrators, utilizing and developing best practices, investigating system problems, monitoring system health, and completing security upgrades. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area (EN1 level).
Bachelor's degree in a related area or experience in the field.
1 year in any IT-related field.
Experience with Linux OS (RedHat-based OS preferred, but other Linux OS experience is acceptable).
Experience with Windows OS – Windows 10 and later.
Demonstrated problem-solving experience.
Demonstrated task planning skills.
Demonstrated effective communication skills.
Demonstrated experience assisting others with IT-related issues.
Experience working in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with RedHat-based systems.
Familiarity with IT Service Desk Support.
Familiarity with Configuration management software (ansible, puppet, BigFix, SCRM).
Familiarity with Monitoring and alerting.
Familiarity with Log consolidation and monitoring.
Familiarity with Git/Gitlab Usage.
Familiarity with Johnson Space Center campus network.
Familiarity with NASA security mechanisms (security plans, POAMs, ATOs, Risk Assessments).

Responsibilities

Support both Windows and Linux based systems.
Manage and design networking both wired and wireless that are specific to each lab.
Maintain security updates on all lab systems.
Work alongside other System Administrators within the Aeroscience and Flight Mechanics Division.
Utilize established best practices and develop best practices of your own.
Investigate system problems.
Proactively monitor system health.
Complete security upgrades.
Other duties as required may be requested.
