About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two to three years of related experience.
• General computer experience, including experience with spreadsheet and word-processing programs.
• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Willingness to strive to advance or complete projects.
• Ability to recover from or adjust to misfortune or setbacks.
• Ability to build effective relationships with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to be truthful and credible in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating, or equivalent experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Complete material take-offs for structural and miscellaneous steel.
• Prepare accurate project estimates.
• Review design drawings and specifications, applying discretion, judgment, and industry standards and practices to minimize potential risks.
• Coordinate with other estimators, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure the full project scope is covered.
• Enter and maintain project information in sales software.
• Research upcoming projects and help develop the customer base.
• Provide backup to the project management department when needed.
• Maintain prompt and dependable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
