About The Position

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Software Developer in Test to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. This is a full-time, 100% U.S.-based remote W2 position requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI). Applicants from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered. The salary range is $85,389–$116,975. The role conducts and leads software and IT system testing, performs verification activities, documents and communicates results, supports issue resolution, and reports progress and test metrics. It also contributes to procedural improvements, may perform other IT systems engineering activities, and provides technical solutions for difficult project issues. The position involves working with project stakeholders and customers, independently developing approaches to solutions, and mentoring or guiding junior testers. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 10 years of total professional experience and at least 10 years in software testing and quality assurance. Advanced testing or quality assurance certifications are listed, as are experience with EDI X.12 medical claims and familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms such as AWS or Azure. Selected applicants are subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The screening process requests a LinkedIn profile link, and interviews are conducted on Microsoft Teams with the camera on.
