About The Position

Requirements

• No previous experience required but preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; security training or certification preferred.
• Valid state-issued security guard license (if required by location).
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military is a plus.
• Strong observation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to remain alert and respond calmly during emergencies.
• Proficiency in writing reports and using security equipment (radios, cameras, access systems).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and respond quickly as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including night shifts or adverse weather.
• Capability to respond quickly to incidents, which may involve running, lifting, or restraining individuals if necessary.
• Sufficient vision and hearing to monitor surroundings, operate surveillance equipment, and detect hazards.
• Manual dexterity to use radios, cameras, locks, and other security devices.
• Ability to work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, temperature extremes) and remain alert during long shifts.
• Tolerance for prolonged periods of sitting or standing while monitoring entry points or surveillance systems.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to monitor for safety hazards, unauthorized access, or suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents and follow established protocols.
• Enforce facility rules and security policies while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems to detect and report irregularities.
• Control access to buildings by verifying identification and logging visitors.
• Document incidents, complete reports, and communicate relevant information to supervisors.
• Assist in emergency situations, including medical events, evacuations, or disturbances.
• Perform routine checks of doors, windows, and security equipment to ensure proper function.
• All other duties as assigned.
