About The Position
The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) has 1 (one) exciting indeterminate opportunity within the Operations branch at the CATSA HQ. Requirements
- Graduation from a recognized university with a specialization in operations research, mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, physics, or another speciality relevant to the duties of the position.
- A minimum of four years of experience in data mining, data analysis and synthesis.
- Knowledge and experience developing artificial intelligence and machine learning models.
- Previous experience in programming and developing mathematical models using software such as SAS, R, SPSS, MATLAB, Python.
- Advanced knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts and application.
- Experience working with large datasets.
- Experience in the development of mathematical models to support business needs.
- Experience drafting clear and concise reports and presentations with a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations that synthesize findings in a business context.
- Strong technical and programming skills with an emphasis on analytical software.
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to understand and apply concepts.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with some of the following analytical methodologies: statistical analysis, machine learning, forecasting, discrete event simulation, mathematical programming, stochastic modeling, visual analytics, etc.
- Ability to understand client’s needs and translate business requirements into technical directions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to clearly communicate ideas and results to non-technical and business audience.
- Meticulous, rigorous, and thorough.
- Ability to travel as required
- Language Profile: English Essential
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge and experience with computer vision models.
- Strong skills in research, analysis and problem-solving accompanied by an ability to synthesize and interpret complex information and situations.
- Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting CATSA.
- Master’s degree in operations research, mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Experience conducting investigations into data discrepancies.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI.
- Knowledge of simulation development programs such as Arena or Simio.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing quantitative models and tools, including artificial intelligence models, to support decision-making and operational planning.
- Conducting advanced data analysis.
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
