This position involves teaching Grade 4 students, meeting and instructing them during assigned class time. The teacher will plan a program of study that caters to individual student needs, interests, and abilities, creating a classroom environment conducive to learning. Responsibilities include preparing lessons, encouraging student behavior standards, guiding the learning process towards curriculum goals, and establishing clear learning objectives. The teacher will employ various instructional techniques and media, strive to implement the district's educational philosophy, and regularly assess student accomplishments, providing progress reports. Safety of students, equipment, materials, and facilities is paramount. The role requires maintaining accurate records, assisting in policy implementation, and establishing classroom rules. The teacher will be available for education-related purposes outside instructional hours as needed and will supervise teacher aides and volunteers. Professional competence and participation in staff meetings and committees are expected. The role includes teaching citizenship and basic subject matter, developing lesson plans, providing individualized and small group instruction, and evaluating student growth. Communication with parents is essential, as is identifying pupil needs and cooperating with other staff to address student issues. Professional development through in-service activities and self-selected growth activities is required. Other duties as assigned.
