About The Position

KPI Solutions is currently seeking a Site Safety Specialist to support the safe execution of large-scale material handling and automation projects. This role is responsible for providing on-site safety oversight in a complex environment involving multiple OEMs, subcontractors, and coordination under a General Contractor (GC). The ideal candidate will serve as a strong field presence, ensuring that all work activities are planned and executed safely, risks are proactively identified and mitigated, and all parties are aligned with KPI, customer, and regulatory safety expectations. Success in this role requires strong communication, situational awareness, and the ability to influence safe behaviors across diverse teams without direct authority.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of construction, industrial, or field safety experience
  • Experience working on multi-contractor job sites under a General Contractor
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety best practices
  • Ability to build relationships and influence without direct authority
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in material handling, automation, or warehouse systems environments
  • Experience working with diverse, automated solutions and experience conducting risk assessments on them
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • First Aid/CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide Daily Site Safety Oversight: Maintain an active field presence to monitor ongoing work activities, conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and observations, and identify hazards and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Support Multi-Contractor Coordination: Interface with OEMs, subcontractors, and the GC to align on safety expectations, participate in coordination and planning meetings to integrate safety into execution, and promote accountability across all parties for safe work practices.
  • High-Risk Activity Oversight: Support and verify safe execution of high-hazard work including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), working at heights, hoisting and rigging, electrical work, and confined space entry. Ensure appropriate permits, documentation, and controls are in place prior to work.
  • Incident Prevention & Reporting: Support or lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensure timely reporting of incidents, near misses, and hazards, and track and communicate trends and key safety observations.
  • Training & Engagement: Assist with site safety orientations for new personnel, support or lead toolbox talks and daily safety briefings, coach field personnel and subcontractors on safe work practices, and encourage proactive hazard identification and reporting.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate safety records including inspections, permits, and reports, ensure compliance with KPI standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations (e.g., OSHA), and support internal and external safety audits.
