About The Position

Accountable for the direct and indirect care for infants and women both in the inpatient or outpatient clinic setting. Develops feeding plans to address the nutritional needs of the infant that may include but is not limited to breastfeeding support, breast pumping support, and supplementation as appropriate. Provides lactation support and education to inpatients and to outpatients as directed by referral or in the clinic setting after discharge. Performs all duties in a manner that supports team concept caring and respect reflecting the philosophy of the department of nursing and the Sisters of Providence Mission. Requirements

  • Associate's degree in nursing
  • Washington Registered Nurse License
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
  • 2 years of experience providing lactation care in a Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, or SCN department or in an outpatient mother baby clinical setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (required within 3 years of hire for RNs without a BSN, unless 20 years of RN experience).
