About The Position

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree of Nursing Minimum
  • FL RN license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in specialty unit
  • Deemed competent to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Delivers nursing care to patients under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines.
  • Plans and implements nursing care, including documenting nursing assessments and identifying situations requiring further intervention.
  • Formulates and communicates a goal-directed plan of care, ensuring patient rights.
  • Assesses and analyzes the health status of patients in the assigned nursing unit comprehensively.
  • Performs and/or assures completed assessments on all patients admitted within the designated time.
  • Performs on-going assessments and documents according to policy and procedure, reporting significant findings to the healthcare team.
  • Initiates the discharge planning process with the initial admission assessment.
  • Formulates individualized patient plans of care based on assessment data.
  • Communicates the plan of care to other members of the healthcare team through daily worksheet conferences, verbal communication, and shift report.
  • Communicates and documents all patient care given, including assessments, plan of care, interventions, patient response, and follow-up.
  • Transcribes and directs the implementation of physician orders.
  • Conducts ongoing evaluation of patient outcomes and documents the effectiveness of interventions in relation to the plan of care.
  • Includes patient and family in the evaluation process.
  • Provides appropriate patient assessment and care specific to the needs of the patient populations served (e.g., age groups, patients of size; diagnosis-based).
  • Demonstrates knowledge and awareness of the specific physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients.
  • Evaluates patient progress and adjusts care plans based on patient responses.
  • Documents patient care accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards.
