About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring a Wellness Nurse at The Residence at Vinnin Square. This is a full-time position with working hours from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The salary range is $36.00 - $45.00 per hour, based on years of experience. The Wellness Nurse is an active member of the Resident Care Team and assists the Resident Care Director with community management. This role includes direct supervision of Resident Care Associates, monitoring residents' health needs, providing coverage for resident care staffing as needed, and assisting with on-call duties. The Wellness Nurse also follows up on family issues as directed by the Resident Care Director.

Requirements

  • Current RN or LPN License in the state you are employed.
  • A high school diploma and graduation from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • At least two years of experience in a geriatric setting.
  • Previous health experience in a hospital and/or community setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • May require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment.
  • Visual and auditory acuity.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs., and be able to carry objects.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand.
  • Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
  • Must use good body mechanics.
  • Should be neat and well groomed.
  • Must project a positive attitude towards the service provided.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals to grow community occupancy.
  • Assist with the evaluation of resident needs and the development/revision of service plans.
  • Demonstrate understanding of pathophysiological and psychosocial changes associated with aging and disabilities.
  • Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of resident care associates.
  • Evaluate resident issues and medical concerns and discuss with the ED, family, and MD as appropriate.
  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with all departments.
  • Monitor resident care assistants' compliance with infection control/sharps disposal program.
  • Participate in community marketing efforts.
  • Participate in the direct care of residents on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide support to resident care associates regarding assignment questions, concerns, and emergency situations.
  • Ensure all required staffing and schedules are met, including backup coverage.
  • Ensure completion and review of incident/accident reports and implement changes to minimize future issues.
  • Ensure proper communication with LCB Senior Living and state compliance reporting.
  • Assist the Resident Care Director with all required documentation.
  • Administer topical and oral medications, as well as ear and eye drops, and injectables where allowed by regulation, with written physician orders.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
