About The Position

The Registered Nurse has the responsibility and accountability for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. Planning, assessing, intervening, and evaluating the care of patient with an outcome focused approach from the initial assessment of patient, routine on-going assessment, implemented interventions as indicated, until and through the discharge of the patient, involving the patient, family, provider, and other members of the care team. Reviews and documents care provided, outcomes of care, and evaluations of care. Follows the professional standards of care. Applies evidence, professional standards, and best practice to bedside caregiving through critical thinking, experiential evidence, and evidence-based practices. Demonstrates ability to prioritize care based on changing assessment and needs of patients. Having ongoing communication with physicians and other departments in the hospital.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
  • ONS and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification required to be completed before completion of orientation.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse required within two years of hire.
  • Must obtain Crisis Prevention within 6 months.

  • Recent experience in specialty preferred.
