This unit primarily treats patients with myocardial infarctions, life-threatening dysrhythmias, cardiac post-procedures, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute respiratory distress, vascular surgeries, and general surgeries with complications. The role involves direct patient care, including assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overall patient responsibility.
