About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Atlanta, GA. The assignment is for 14 weeks, starting on 10/05/2026. The role involves providing direct patient care to adult patients with cardiac diagnoses, monitoring cardiac rhythms, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The setting is a hospital with a 28-bed PCU/IMCU unit that serves a cardiac population and is telemetry capable. The nurse will work 12-hour night shifts, three consecutive nights per week, for a total of 36 guaranteed hours.

Requirements

  • PCU/IMCU clinical experience: minimum 2 years in a similar-sized facility
  • Certification: BLS and ACLS required
  • Setting experience: cardiac population care with telemetry and higher-acuity monitoring
  • Shift availability: able to work night shifts (12-hour blocks) on a 12x3 schedule
  • Ability to load patient demographics and badge information as part of the assignment process (per assignment requirements)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to adult patients in the PCU/IMCU with cardiac diagnoses, including STEMI, NSTEMI, CTS, and C/P.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry, recognize changes, and intervene per physician orders.
  • Administer prescribed medications and cardiac drips (e.g., Milrinone, Dobutamine, vasopressors) as directed.
  • Perform ongoing assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to coordinate care, including transitions to telemetry beds with lower acuity when appropriate.
  • Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to unit protocols during 12-hour night shifts.
