About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) located in Atlanta, Georgia. The assignment is temporary, lasting 16 weeks, and involves supporting a PCU/IMCU team caring for patients with high-acuity conditions and complex care needs. The role requires working night shifts, 12 hours per shift, four nights per week. The weekly pay ranges from $2,298 to $2,480, with guaranteed hours of 48 per week.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of RN experience in PCU/IMCU or a closely related high-acuity unit
BLS certification
ACLS certification
Ability to work the night shift and participate in a 16-week travel assignment
Willingness to work in a hospital-based IMCU/PCU environment with acute care responsibilities
Flexibility to adapt to unit procedures, rapid changes in patient status, and teamwork in a high-paced setting

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for IMCU/PCU patients with high-acuity conditions, including sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, substance use, and encephalopathy.
Monitor patient status, interpret assessment findings, and respond to evolving clinical conditions; manage heparin drips and other IV therapies per protocol.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; ensure timely administration and accurate documentation in the EHR.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (physicians, case management, and ancillary staff) to coordinate care plans, rounds, and discharge planning.
Maintain patient safety, infection control, and quality standards; observe and report changes in patient conditions and escalate as needed.
Uphold unit protocols with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio around 1:4; participate in routine care coordination and timely documentation.
