About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) located in Atlanta, Georgia. The assignment is for 16 weeks, starting on 09/21/2026, with guaranteed hours of 48 per week. The role involves night shifts, working 12-hour shifts, 4 nights per week, in a hospital-based Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU)/PCU setting with high-acuity patients.

Requirements

Active Georgia RN license
Minimum 2 years of recent IMCU/PCU or high-acuity acute care experience
BLS and ACLS certifications
Graduation from an accredited RN program
Ability to work night shift and thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity IMCU/PCU environment

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for adult IMCU/PCU patients with high-acuity needs, delivering evidence-based nursing care.
Conduct ongoing assessments, monitor vitals and telemetry, document findings in the electronic medical record, and adjust care plans as needed.
Administer prescribed medications and therapies, including anticoagulation and heparin drips; manage IV lines and continuous infusions.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to anticipate patient needs, respond to changes in condition, and escalate promptly to the physician as required.
Care for patients with sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, CKD, substance use, and encephalopathy; implement and evaluate treatment plans.
Maintain patient safety, infection control, pain management, and discharge planning; provide patient and family education to support understanding of care.
