About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) located in Utica, NY. The assignment is for 14 weeks, starting on 10/05/2026, and will be in a hospital setting. The role guarantees 48 hours per week and involves direct patient care for adult patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions. Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting patient status, administering medications, managing various medical devices and treatments, performing neuro checks, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. The nurse may also be required to float to related units as needed and adhere to unit-specific protocols. Local candidates within 75 miles may be eligible for local rates.

Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse license; NURSYS license verification required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• EPIC EMR experience
• Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience
• Ability to work in an IMCU/PCU setting with potential for unit float

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for IMCU/PCU adults with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions
• Monitor and document patient status; respond to changes in condition; administer medications as prescribed
• Manage devices and treatments as appropriate (e.g., arterial lines, BiPAP, chest tubes, temporary pacing) with RT support for vent management
• Perform neuro checks and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in patient and family education, discharge planning, and handoffs during shift changes
• Float to related units as needed and adhere to unit-specific protocols
