About The Position

Requirements

Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
Current CPR/BLS card
ACLS certification
Certifications aligned with PCU and cardiac care as listed in the job notes
Ability to work in a Progressive Care Unit setting and manage a 4:1 patient ratio on PCU
Eligibility to work a 13-week travel assignment with 36 guaranteed hours
PCU/Progressive Care Unit experience and/or related cardiac and respiratory care background is expected

Responsibilities

Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs and develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Implement and evaluate the patient’s plan of care, adjusting as needed based on clinical status.
Provide explanations and instructions to patients and responsible persons; educate families on care plans and discharge needs.
Demonstrate nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition; respond promptly to evolving acuity.
Maintain complete and accurate medical records and participate in continual quality improvement efforts related to core measures.
Contribute to a healthy workplace through professional communication and collaboration; participate in continuing education.
