About The Position

The focus of this position is upon manufacturing support, quality planning, problem solving, training, quality system maintenance, continuous improvement. Provides Quality Engineering coordination of quality planning activities that ensure products and processes are designed, validated, procured, manufactured and inspected in accordance with customer and company quality assurance requirements. This role requires work in our Byram location (with occasional work required in Fairfield).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, or Technical field of study.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, imitative and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Experience in team facilitation and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, Failure Modes, and Effect Analysis, Quality Reporting and Analysis, Flowcharting and Procedure Analysis.
  • Knowledge of Capability Analysis, process control of product, developing controls plans and statistical techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and / or similar quality system standards and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and improves Quality systems such as Calibration, Document Control, Non-conformance, Corrective Action, Management Review, Audits, Material Return, Material Review Board, etc.
  • Uses ability to interpret and analyze blueprints to develop and facilitate the creation of Product Quality Plans, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans and Inspection Instructions.
  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, and evaluation of products and processes.
  • Collects data tied to appropriate statistical techniques and sampling plan.
  • Develops and implements means for the use and reporting of statistical and capability studies in the manufacturing process.
  • Maintains, coordinates activities and systems, and makes improvements to quality systems such as Non-Conformance, Material Returns, Gage and Tooling Calibration, etc.
  • Assist in performing failure analysis for products and processes using problem solving tools and techniques.
  • Troubleshoots processes to improve and correct quality issues.
  • Supports Quality Manager in various activities including cross-functional teams in formal and informal continuous improvement activities (i.e. developing and improving baseline Cpks, reducing scrap and rework, improving first time yields, reducing costs).
  • Prepares reports, graphs and charts (level I-III) to describe trends, pin point areas of focus for improvement opportunities, or to provide information
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of all manufacturing and quality assurance systems i.e. Lot Acceptance, Military Specs, Design Qualification Testing, and quality assurance systems, i.e. First Article Inspection, Calibration of inspection equipment, inspection methods, techniques and gages, etc and Documents non-conformances and conducts preliminary reviews.
  • Conducts preliminary review and analyzes non-conformance data to identify opportunities for corrective, preventive or continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Writes, revises and releases technical procedures and work instructions as necessary.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and recommends changes to system documents.
  • Performs and hosts audits of quality systems, products, and processes, internal and external (suppliers/subsidiaries).
  • Adheres to safety practices and procedures and follows overall CAD procedures & policies, procedures tied to ISO 9001/AS9100 and other QMS requirements.
  • Adheres to the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) policies and procedures related to NIST 800-171 and completes all required CUI Awareness training, which includes collection, processing/handling, transmission, storage, and general safeguarding practices.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all information processed.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stretch, bend, kneel and stoop and perform work behind a safety shield.
  • The employee is regularly required to walk, communicate, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using appropriate moving devices.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
