About The Position

As a Supplier Quality Engineer on the Sentry products team, you will work across internal teams and suppliers to define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high-quality, reliable products for Anduril's Sentry autonomous surveillance systems. You will help ensure the reliability, quality, and performance of components and sub-assemblies across PCBA, structures and power, radar, and imaging commodity families, supporting operation in demanding field environments. The role requires manufacturing and supply management knowledge, supplier development experience, understanding of subsystem performance criteria and metrology, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will lead supplier quality development throughout product development, assess supplier processes and capabilities, establish quality readiness and qualification activities, and partner with engineering, quality, program management, category management, and sourcing teams. You will help eliminate supplier risk throughout the product lifecycle, from early prototyping through scaled production, and support supplier performance, compliance, corrective action, and readiness for future Sentry products and variants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field; Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense or similar hardware across one or more of these commodities: PCBA, structures and power, radar, or imaging.
  • Experience driving high-quality assembly and/or disassembly of complex projects and mechanical or electronic structures by developing drawings, schematics, and work instructions with other engineering functions.
  • Experience driving supplier performance and evaluation.
  • Experience with Statements of Work (SOW), quality clauses, intellectual property (IP), and government regulations such as ITAR.
  • Working knowledge of product development methodologies and quality tools, including FMEA, APQP, PPAP elements such as MSA, AIAG quality improvement techniques, and GD&T.
  • Strong ownership mindset and demonstrated ability to drive projects from start to completion.
  • Analytical skills and experience with data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools such as MatLab, JMP, or MiniTab.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to suppliers, sourcing partners, and manufacturing locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a technical field.
  • 5–7 years of experience developing quality systems for low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments and suppliers.
  • Experience across multiple Sentry commodity families: PCBA, structures and power, radar, and imaging.
  • Working knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001, and AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements.
  • Experience with government contracts and MIL standard requirements.
  • Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Oracle/Netsuite, Jira, Tableau, and Foundry.

Responsibilities

  • Drive supplier quality development through product development stages with the Sentry product engineering team, including design reviews, supplier process development, testing, and qualification for components and sub-assemblies.
  • Review supplier processes and capabilities to ensure alignment with product, part, and sub-assembly requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise for manufacturing and outsourcing processes across PCBA, structures and power systems, radar modules, and imaging sensor assemblies.
  • Gather supplier data and insights to evaluate manufacturability, quality, cost-efficiency, capability, and audit compliance.
  • Partner with development engineering, product quality engineering, and program management to deliver predictable supply to development and production programs, and manage supplier technical performance exceptions, containments, and deviations.
  • Analyze key and critical characteristics in drawings, schematics, and supplier specifications; develop measurement systems and inspection criteria; and lead supplier qualification activities, including PPAP, FAIR, MSA, audits, inspection development, PFMEA, and AS9102.
  • Partner with Category Management and Sourcing Engineering to drive supplier performance for cost, quality, delivery, and strategic goals across the four commodity families.
  • Own the elimination of supplier risk to improve quality and reliability throughout the Sentry product lifecycle, from early prototyping through scaled production.
  • Use audits, readiness reviews, training, and documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Work cross-functionally to define and execute technology and vendor capability roadmaps and delivery schedules for future Sentry variants, proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and explorations.
  • Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities; review supplier action effectiveness and share lessons learned across the Sentry product team.
  • Drive the supplier corrective action and response (SCAR) process.
  • Audit supplier Quality Management Systems as they relate to supplier quality and performance.
  • Define and improve documentation and activities needed to ensure compliance with customer flow-down requirements.
  • Prepare, support, and lead supplier onsite audits and reviews of contract deliverables for quality management and compliance.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of total compensation.
  • Comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees, supporting health and recovery.
