Maintenance Technician

About The Position

Crossbeam Investments, LLP, a local property management company, is searching for a Maintenance Technician for Westview Apartments, located on Beacon Hill. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing building maintenance and unit-make-ready duties on multifamily residential buildings. The position reports to the maintenance supervisor or property manager. The ideal candidate will possess basic maintenance skills as well as the ability to communicate with residents and vendors. The schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00 - 4:00 PM.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician. Prior maintenance experience in property management strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with general repairs/maintenance work, basic appliance repair, plumbing and electrical.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and vendors.
  • Able to work well independently and also collaborate effectively with manager.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
  • Hiring is contingent on passing a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy appliance and pool experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completion of general maintenance tasks, including service requests, turnover-functions and curb appeal.
  • Unit Work Orders such as clogged garbage disposals, toilets, sinks and tubs; leaky faucets, shower heads and anything the resident breaks.
  • Light appliance repair, knobs, burners, heat elements, broken handles, etc.
  • Daily walk of the grounds, vacuum and pick-up garbage as needed to keep areas well maintained.
  • Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repair in a timely and professional manner. Assure all service requests are completed daily.
  • Follow-up on completed and incomplete service requests to ensure satisfaction.
  • On-call for emergency calls such as fire, floods, emergency repairs, etc.
  • Other duties as needed.
