In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, the School of Music maintains a pool of qualified persons interested in non-tenure-track teaching positions. The School of Music prides itself in the individualized attention it provides to its students, who major in music education, music therapy, music performance, music composition, music business, collaborative piano, graduate conducting, and liberal arts. It is housed in the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts, along with the School of Theatre, Dance and Film, the Wonsook Kim School of Art, and the School of Creative Technologies. The School of Music regularly maintains an enrollment of approximately 400 undergraduate and graduate music majors. Illinois State University, founded in 1857, is the oldest public university in Illinois, with approximately 21,000 students in six colleges.
