The Department of Psychological Science at Vassar College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2027. We seek applicants from the areas of clinical psychology or psychopathology. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching and have completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology or psychopathology at the time of appointment. Particular research areas of interest include cross-cultural factors, application to underserved and/or vulnerable populations, therapeutic interventions, trauma, and/or methods utilizing “big data” analytics. The successful applicant will teach classes required for, or supporting our, Psychological Science major. The teaching load in the first year is four courses, and in subsequent years will be four classroom courses plus one intensive – a small-enrollment, closely mentored experience for undergraduates. Teaching responsibilities will include an upper-level seminar in an area of the candidate’s clinical/psychopathology expertise, intermediate-level clinical psychology courses, and an introductory course in Statistics & Experimental Design. Preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to Vassar’s many multidisciplinary programs.
